Kitply Cup 2008 was a series of four One Day International (ODI) cricket matches between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The series got started on June 08, 2008. The matches were telecast on Neo Cricket channel.

The 2009 Indian Premier League season, abbreviated as IPL 2, was the second season of the Indian Premier League.
  
The tournament was hosted by South Africa and scheduled between April 18 and May 24, 2009. The matches of IPL 2 was telecast live on Set Max channel.

The final match of the IPL 2 was played between Deccan Chargers v Bangalore Royal Challengers on May 24, 2009 at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Deccan Chargers defeated Bangalore Royal Challengers in the final match and won the Indian Premier League 2009 (IPL 2).

The title sponsorship for the series was secured by the Kitply Industries Limited of India who named it The Kitply Cup.

The tri-series served as a warm-up for the Asia Cup in Pakistan which commences on June 24, 2008.

The three sides last met in a tri-series in Bangladesh in 1998, with India edging out Pakistan in a best-of-three finals.

 

About the Bangladesh Team :
As on June 2008, the Bangladesh team was ranked ninth in the ICC Test Championship and at ninth place in the ICC ODI Championship.




About the Indian Team :
As on June 2008, the Indian team was ranked second in the ICC Test Championship and at fourth place in the ICC ODI Championship.




About the Pakistan Team :
As on June 2008, the Pakistan team was ranked sixth in the ICC Test Championship and at fifth place in the ICC ODI Championship.




All the four One Day International (ODI) matches were played in Mirpur.

The match schedule was as follows:

08-June-08 Bangladesh vs Pakistan Pakistan won by 70 runs.
10-June-08 India vs Pakistan India won by 140 runs.
12-June-08 Bangladesh vs India India won by 7 wickets
14-June-08 India vs Pakistan
(Final)
Pakistan won by 25 runs


The final match between India and Pakistan was played on June 14, 2008 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. Pakistan defeated India in the final match and won the Kitply Cup 2008.

Salman Butt was declared the Man of the Match while Younis Khan was declared the Man of the Series.

correction
"The matches will be telecast on Neo Cricket channel."
This sentence may not be grammatically incorrect but it sounds strange.
It can be written as,
"The matches will telecast on Neo Sports channel." OR
"The Neo Sports channel has the series' telecast rights." OR
