Nagesh Kukunoor is an Indian film actor and a director. He was born on March 30, 1967. He moved to Atlanta in 1988 and graduated from the Osmania University. Later, he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology. He studied acting at the Warehouse Actor's Theatre in Atlanta and directed a short film called One Culture At a Time. He started his career as an environmental consultant in Atlanta. He returned to India in 1997 to pursue his dreams in film-making. He made his debut in Bollywood as a producer, director and an actor with the Hindi film Hyderabad Blues (1998). Later, he directed and acted in the film Rockford (1999). He has acted and produced films such as Bollywood Calling (2001), 3 Deewarein (2003), Hyderabad Blues 2 (2004), Iqbal (2005), Dor (2006), Bombay To Gangkok (2008) etc. Nagesh has won following awards and honors: • Audience Award for Best Film at the Peachtree International Film Festival in Atlanta for the film Hyderabad Blues (1998). • Audience Award for Best Film at the Rhode Island Film Festival for the film Hyderabad Blues (1998). • Teacher's Achievement Award for Creative and Performing Arts in 2002. • Best Story Award at the 2003 Filmfare awards for the Hindi film Teen Deewarein (2003). Nagesh has joined K for Kishore, a singing competition on Sony Entertainment Television channel as one of the judges to select the voice of Kishore Kumar for his new film.
