Namrata Shirodkar Ghattamaneni is an Indian model and also a film actress. She was born on January 22, 1972. She is the sister of Indian film actress Shilpa Shirodkar. Namrata started her career as a model. She won the Miss Indian title in 1993. She represented India in the 1993 Miss Universe pageant and secured sixth position. She also represented India in the 1993 Miss Asia Pacific pageant and was first runner-up. Namrata started her acting career with the Hindi film Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), opposite Indian film actor Salman Khan. She has acted in few Hindi films such as Mere Do Anmol Ratan (1998), Hero Hindustani (1998), Kachche Dhaage (1999), Vaastav (1999), Pukar (2000), Hera Pheri (2000), Astitva (2000), Aaghaaz (2000), Albela (2001), Tera Mera Saath Rahen (2001), Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (2002), Maseeha (2002), Pran Jaaye Par Shaan Na Jaaye (2003), Tehzeeb (2003), LOC: Kargil (2003), Charas (2004), Insaaf (2004), Bride & Prejudice (2004), Rok Sako To Rok Lo (2004) etc. Namrata married Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu on February 10, 2005. They have a son called Gowtham.
