Pooja
Batra is an Indian model and a film actress. She was born on October 27,
1976 in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. Her mother Neelam Batra was a contestant in
1971 Miss India pageant. Her father was an army colonel.
Pooja graduated from the Fergusson College in Pune. She also completed her
MBA from the Symbiosis College, also in Pune.
Pooja started her career as a model. She won the Miss India title in 1993.
She started her acting career with the Hindi film Vishwavidhaata (1997). She
has acted in several Hindi films such as Virasat (1997), Bhai (1997),
Chandralekha (1997), Sham Ghansham (1998), Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999), Bas
Yaari Rakho (2000), Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye (2000), Ittefaq (2001), Dil Ne
Phir Yaad Kiya (2001), Farz (2001), Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi (2001), Jodi
No.1 (2001), Nayak (2001), Talaash (2003), Parwana (2003), Taj Mahal (2005)
etc.
Pooja was the spokeperson for shampoo called Head & Shoulders in India. She
was also the ambassador for Parag Sarees. She is the life member of
International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy Of Film &
Television, Noida.
Pooja won the Zee Cine Best Supporting Actress Award for the Hindi film
Virasat (1997). She is married to Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia, an orthopedic surgeon.
