Shekhar Suman is a prominent Bollywood film and television actor. He was born on June 14, 1960 in Bihar. His father is a doctor. He has 3 sisters. He started his career as a Television actor in a serial called Wah Janab on Doordarshan. Later, he made his debut as a hero in the film Utsav (1984). He has acted in other films such as Rehguzar (1985), Anubhav (1986), Tridev (1989), Chor Machaaye Shor (2002), Ek Se Badhkar Ek (2004) and others. He married Alka Kapoor on May 4, 1984 and had 2 sons, Aayush and Adhyayan. He lost his older son Aayush in 1994 who suffered from a disease called myco-cardio-fibrolystosis. He returned to Television in 1993 with the serial Dekh Bhai Dekh, a comedy show on Doordarshan. He also starred in other TV serials like Reporter, Bombay Blue, Andaz and others. He became popular with the talk shows Movers and Shakers on Sony Entertainment Television channel and Simply Shekhar on Zee Television channel. He hosted the show The Great Indian Comedy Show on Star One and Dial One aur Jeeto on Sahara TV. He has also hosted quiz shows like Bid Bid Boom on Zee TV and He-Man on Star One. He was one of the judges of the show Hass Ley India Comedy Gang War on Bindass Television channel and Great Indian Laughter Challenge, a comedy show on Star One channel, along with Navjot Singh Sidhu, a former cricketer. He has earned a good name because of his shows and witty humor on politics, corruption, famous people etc. He has also made his debut in singing with a music album named “Kuch Khwaab Aise”. He is constructing a hospital in memory of his son Aayush in Patna, Bihar.
