 Shweta Tiwari is an Indian Television actress. She is well known for her role of Prerna Basu in the serial “Kasautii Zindagi Kii” on Star Plus. She was born on October 4, 1980 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh to Ashok Tiwari and Nirmala Tiwari. She has a brother called Kiruna Nidhan.
Shweta finished her schooling from St. Isabel School in Mumbai and graduated from Burhanis College in Muzgaon, Mumbai. She began her career at the age of 12. She used to work in a travel agency. She was noticed by a director in a dance competition and was offered a role in the play Khoobsoorat Bahu. She started her Television career with the serial Kaleerein.
Ekta Kapoor, the head of Balaji Telefilms noticed her in the serial Aane Wala Pal and offered her roles in Karam, Kaahin Kissii Roz and finally Kasautii Zindagi Kii.
She has acted in various Bollywood films like Abrakcadabra, Madhoshi (2004), Din-E-Intezaar (2006), Dahek (2006) etc and has been a performer in various dance songs. Recently she appeared in a music video called Paisa Paisa sung by Daler Mehndi. She has also acted in a Bhojpuri film called Hamar Saiyyan Hindustani (2006) with actor
Ravi Kishan.
She married Raja Chaudhary, an Indian film actor and producer on December 23, 1999 and has a daughter, Palak. She had participated with her husband in Nach Baliye 2, a dance show on Star Plus.
The couple got separated in June 2007.
She had won the 2003 Star Parivaar Favorite Jodi Award with Cezanne Khan, a co-star. She has also won the Star Parivaar Favorite Maa award 4 times.
Shweta was one of the contestants of
Yeh Hai Jalwa
on 9X Television channel and lead the team called Bahu Ki Behenein. They
were eliminated on May 18, 2008.
She was one of the judges of the dance show
Aajaa Mahi Vay
on Star Plus channel.
she was one of the anchors of the
reality dance show
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 on Sony Entertainment
Television channel.
Shweta Tiwari was one of the contestants of
Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, an adventure
reality show on Sony Entertainment Television channel. She opted out of the
show voluntarily on July 27, 2009. |
