Simi
Garewal is an Indian film actress. She was born on October 17, 1944. Her
father was a brigadier in the Indian army.
Simi started her acting career with the Hindi film Raaz Ki Baat (1962). She
has acted in various Hindi films such as Son of India (1962), Tarzan Goes to
India (1962), Teen Devian (1965), Johar-Mehmood in Goa (1965), Do Badan
(1966), Aadmi (1968), Saathi (1968), Ek Raat (1968), Mera Naam Joker (1970),
Andaz (1971), Seema (1971), Do Boon Pani (1971), Anokhi Pehchan (1972),
Namak Haraam (1973), Haath Ki Safai (1974), Chalte Chalte (1976), Naach Uthe
Sansaar (1976), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Abhi To Jee Lein (1977), Ahsaas (1979),
The Burning Train (1980), Karz (1980), Insaf Ka Tarazu (1980), Professor
Pyarelal (1981), Biwi-O-Biwi (1981), Haathkadi (1982), Love and God (1986),
Rukhsat (1988) etc.
She formed her own production company called Siga Arts International and
produced the Hindi film Rukhsat (1988). She anchors the popular talk show
Rendezvous with Simi Grewal on Star World. She is popularly known as "The
Lady in White".
Simi has won two Filmfare awards - 1966 Best Supporting Actress award for
her role in the Hindi film Do Badan (1966) and 1968 Best Supporting Actress
award for her role in the Hindi film Saathi (1968). |
