Zeenat
Aman is an Indian film actress. She was born on November 19, 1951 to a
Muslim father and a Hindu mother. Her father Amanullah was one of the
writers for the movie Mughal-e-Azam (1960).
Zeenat graduated from the St. Xavier's College in Mumbai and went to Los
Angeles for studies. Later, she returned to India and took a job as a
journalist for Femina, a women’s magazine. She participated in the 1970 Miss
India pageant and was the second runner-up. She also won the Miss Asia
Pacific title in 1970.
Zeenat started her acting career with the Hindi film Hulchul in 1971. Her
second film was Hungama, also in 1971. She got her major breakthrough with
the Hindi film Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971). The film earned her the 1974
Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and Bengal Film Journalists'
Association Best Actress Award. She has acted in several Hindi films such as

Zeenat married Mazhar Khan, an Indian film and television actor in 1985.
They had two sons, Azaan and Zahaan. Mazhar died in September 1998. |
