Singh, started on December 18, 2009 and was aired twice a week, every Friday
and Saturday at 9:30 pm. Title sponsor of the show was LUX.
The Grand Finale of
Dance India Dance 2
was held on April 23, 2010.
Shakti from Terrence ki Toli was declared the winner of
Dance India Dance 2.

Auditions for
Dance India Dance were held in about 11 different cities throughout India such as Jaipur, Indore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Guwahati and Mumbai in November - December 2008.
Contestants between 15 to
25 years of age participated in the contest. 100 contestants were
selected through auditions held in different states of India from which, 40
were chosen for final selection and finally, 18 contestants were selected
for the competition. The dances of the contestants were choreographed by
well known dance choreographers of India such as
Terrence
Lewis,
Remo D’Souza and
Geeta Kapur.
Final 18 contestants were divided into three groups of 6 participants each,
as Geeta ki Gang, Terrence ki Toli and Remo ke Rangeele. The contestants
competed with each other by performing dances like Ballet, Acrobat,
Shadow dancing and Mid-air dancing.

The show was judged by Disco King of Bollywood
Mithun Chakraborty.
The show was hosted by well known television actor
Jay
Bhanushali and an Indian film and television actress
Saumya Tandon.
Prince R Gupta,
Mangesh Mondal and
Sunita Gogoi returned to the main
contest through a wild card round on March 27, 2009.
Mangesh Mondal left the show due to bad
health on April 17, 2009.
Sunita Gogoi was eliminated on May 15,
2009.
Prince R Gupta was eliminated on May
22, 2009.

I just hoped that the most versatile dancer would win which of course was Jai undoubtedly of the 4. Alisha is a good dancer and deserved to make it to the finals. Unfortunately, the meaning of dance was lost from the show. DID started very well, the grandmaster, masters, all the wonderful dance forms but started getting monotonous with the locking and popping drama - the only dance Prince did, partiality and then entirely plastic results towards the end.
Salman of DID received more complements than he deserved - he has neither the height nor the looks that define an actor or a model, besides all he did in the name of dance were "stunts" and "lifts" and "skating" --- ok, he was good at contemporary but he couldn't lock and pop, he looked awkward at hip-hop etc which the other 3 contestants - Siddhesh, Jai and Alisha very easily did.
So, I was disappointed by the result but nevertheless don't mind the result either. Salman is not bad! I just wanted Jai to win - he is so versatile.

It is a relief that Sunita was eliminated. Mithun bhudda is partial to Remo's contestants, he actually knows no dance or street dance - so basically Mithun's grand salutes and comments have NO value!! Prince is great in locking and popping but can do ONLY this form of dance!
Salman, very soft spoken, polished and a nice human being is a good at contemprary and many other dance styles - very strong contestant!
Siddhesh is a good dancer, very versatile but lacks class - he looks to me as a road romeo with no class. I advise him to stop acting arrogant and keep his mouth shut. I don't like his smile and teeth - should see a dentist!
Alisha - good dancer, very strong contestant
Jai - my personal favorite, extremely versatile, very hard working, down to earth, humble, sweet, very strong contestant, great potential -should win!!!!!
As usual and like everybody else, I love Terrence, like Remo.
Hate Geeta the plastic soul that she is, poor personality and not a good choreographer - should see a doc for hypothyroidism - may be thats the reason for her weight gain and irritable mood swings!
