 Dance India Dance
is a dancing competition premiered on Indian satellite television channel
Zee TV. The second season of the "Dance India Dance" series produced by The
Right Picture (TRP) which is partnered by Harbhajan
Singh, started on December 18, 2009 and was aired twice a week, every Friday
and Saturday at 9:30 pm. Title sponsor of the show was LUX.
The first
season of "Dance India Dance" series started on January 30, 2009.
Md.
Ghouse Y.K (Salman) from Bangalore was the winner of the first
season of Dance India Dance.
Auditions for Dance India Dance season 2 were held in about 11 different
cities throughout India such as Ludhiana, Lucknow, Baroda, Bhubaneshwar,
Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai in October -
November 2009. Contestants between 15 to 25 years of age participated
in the contest.
Dance India Dance season 2 was higher level of competition for talented
trained and professional dancers. The participants competed under the support
of three well-known masters -
Remo D’Souza,
Geeta Kapur
and Terrence
Lewis. Final 18 contestants were divided into three groups of 6
participants each, as Remo ke Rangeele,
Geeta ki Gang and Terrence ki Toli. The contestants
competed with each other by performing dances like Ballet, Acrobat,
Shadow dancing and Mid-air dancing.

and he continued to be the Grandmaster.

Dharmesh is simply rubbish!
why ? dharmesh has had such low-grade performances!!
i know of 2 occasions when he did well-auditions and when he had a chance to get back through wild-card!!
other than that ,he has always remained inconsistent!!
he never got dance of the day or salute??
its soooo clear ,he just cannot dance other than hip hop!!
even classical dancing he cudnt learn properly from geeta?
what is he good for?

The performance was rich. People will always like your simple and down-to-earth style. You have proven, other than that you have discovered India and that you like it, that you are bollywood material.
Yes, Mithunda is absolutely right - this last performance in the competition was a power thrill and goes down in memory and will be kept alive there as a standard in itself. But, something tells me, you are cut out to do better! So, there are higher stars to aim for. God bless you and hope to see you on the big screen.
Punit was great the energy vibrant and wonderful. Some of the steps were really nice, really nice. Dear Sajaan has finally settled in to the big DID platform and his style if more kool, getting closer to his smile. Kunwar was graceful for his romantic performance. Darmesh came out superb as he was able to use a prop of stainless steel in a song that is gentle and soft in a special way, keeping its use minimal and made it look gentle and soft as well. To something cold and hard to come along into the gentle and soft tone and tune of the music needs more than skill - it is hoonar.
Binny did a great job, especially on the floor with sword. The two drops on the rope worked for her, too and she added a feather to her cap although it was not the Binny we are so used to watching. She was obviously subdued but she went on to do the ropes, proving that she was offering variety and continues to do so. Full praise for a determination so huge from a small frame, now that we know that she had collapsed during her training. The heavenly charm was not just not there in her smile that always works in her dance as it did brilliantly in her last duet performance with Dharmesh - kurhdi nu nazaaar lagge gayee (arrey burhi nazaar wahley tera muh kala). LOL. Arrey, where did the smile go. Binny, you need to bring back that smile.
But why did Remo sound somewhat rude when he said he didn't want to know her problem? Took me by a little surprise. After all, Binny was so hesitant to talk about it and whatever little she said, it came out only after the insistent proding of Mithunda and even then she started by saying that it is not to be taken as any excuse. She maintained her professional stance. That's a kool cat.
All the contestants have lost a lot of weight and in fact enough weight that the altered body composition is all too obvious. They need to add three perecent back into their subcutaneous tissue. Perhaps they need to take a glass of mixed fruit juice - any three fruits but always including an orange plus a vegetable leaf - and adding a tiny pinch of Himalayan rock salt , then wait for three minutes and drink, twenty minutes before lunch. (Always wsh thoroughly for pesticides may be used). Taking a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil, every night before going to bed, might help in providing energy BUT it is triglyceride, so put it into the mouth and mix it thoroughly with the saliva for it contains the enzyme called lingual lipase to break it up into monoglycerides that are very useful and beneficial.
Shakti ... oh Shakti ... oh what a punch. Was not expecting another social message after your wonderful statement on bride-price but this one on the working mothers turned out to be even more wonderful, as clear as a picture through the power of "skit-dance" as it was more than a dance-act. All the parameters fitted in so perfectly in time and space just like one of those famous 18 century formula of quantum mechanics now used in the String Theory. In short, it cannot be tinkered with. Tinkering with it will only cause cahaos or distortion. Now looks like an actress in her final metamophorsis. She seems to be moving on.
I do not know what the KIT KAT momments are all about. I presumed, (although assumption is the mother of all disappointments) that there is a Kit Kat given when the dance or performance offers a special happy momment that may enter the memory chip. There were in fact several such momments since the last three weeks but so little of Kit Kat - Kunjooooooos Masters. Lol. | |

Also there is more variety, remembering Shashank. The classicals by Kruti and Tashu were quite phenomenal. The contestants brought in more styles as well. There were the fusions and interesting adaptations.
Then there are the thrilling new compositions in choreography (eg Kunwar/Shakti in Avatar like make-up) and stories compressed in dance art, thanks to Remo (eg Punit, Punit and Sajaan) and superimpositions that superimposed modern or new art on oldies. A charming example is Amrita in a Helen number (Piatu Aaabtoh Aaja). Amrita is a real dancer, like Kruti and Tashu in their styles in which their talent really shows and captivates. Amrita has the mind for rich choregraphy as well. Her acts in the dance are meaningful and relevant.
Kruti is trained and talented. Kruti did a very fine and memorable performance with Vandhana in the beginning that was outside her style. Vandhana ought to have capitalized much more on her smile that tends to project purity and an ethical mind. Unfortunately, she was eliminated, too early. And that reminds me of Meenu, who gave very good performances. Her last performance was a wow in itself without wow-factors. It was an amazing performance with real nascent energy that could support a good film but was eliminated in the course of circumstances.
Shakti pours her heart into trying for perfection and timing and has shown her ability for dance art as well as for sensuous dance in a fine way that stay far away from the voluptas and vulgarity. Behind the puppy-innocent eyes is an intelligent and discerning mind and her dedication to training is apparent. Over time, she has projected that she has all the potential to become an accomplished artist. In fact, her last performance proves she has arrived. Her statement in dance on bride-price is good enough to be a contribution and should become an instructional video. Her classical forms, kept to their simplicity are so fine and charming due to her training and partly due to good body ratios. Further training can easily bring this potential as well.
Shashank was a wonderful new artist who paid attention to the little details. He is likley to be tapped by the film industry. He is down to earth and easy to work with. Parvez can easily craft an entertaining choregraphy with little acts that are intertesting and relevant stunts. Unfortunately they were eliminated.
Binny experienced challenging times and always came out well. Underneath that dainty and heavenly smile, a tenacious grit comprises her personality that gives the determination to her mind to give her very best to her performance. Her dance always has a smooth and fine flow. Her particular attention to symmetry, angles and fine flow tends to impart a sweet elengance to her performances that enact a special type of pleasantness. Even her belly dance performance was simple, sweet and elegant, a clever and deliberate effort to steer it into an entertaining art away from sensuality. She seems to have this gift that gives her unconsious competence to enact and display her performance as a dance that comes into an uncanny congruence with her smile and when she removes the parallex between the two she walks away with a sweet, elegant and charming performance, however simple in steps it may be. Of course, in some cases, she makes it look simple. In her performance as a woman who is mentally disturbed (because of love) she came across as an artist as well. She has a lot of credit for variety by now. Perhaps, she has the most number of dances to her credit. Watch out for this mohini.
Sajaan is strong in B-boing and has put in a lot of effort to use that brawn and youthful energy to new forms. His latest, before Jeetuji - as Mahmud is quite something, especially that stark resemblance from certain angles. A good strategy to stay away from stereotyping himself and trying to bank on one style, like Prince in the last season. The voters are smart and are that much sharper now. Excellent and creative locking-popping or B-boing may even take the contestant into the top six but is unlikely to get into the top three without showing some excellence in other forms. The points will still go the all-rounder and the one with variety.
Punit is a genius for putting a character into dance and then plays it out till the end. His dance was very good and has improved tremendously, becoming even more fine and artistic. A creative performer, I must add. Darmesh has a strong and entertaining shelly that is still hot. His own creative punch and punches are endearing. This simple person at heart has thus gained instant popularity.
Kunwar is an artist first. It is this artist who should be allowed to dance to bring the best out of him. Can impart elegance and whiffs of charm as seen in some performances as he remains strong in his style. Very good in duets for certain forms like the Matador and the Bull with Shakti. Jack is so strong in his style and can take breaking to its limits. Always really good in his natural style and in remix. It is time to step out to show that he can break into other styles in dance. The performance with Ameeth was good and might have attracted some Bollywood scouts, now that he has shed about twenty kilos. A little more sculpturing of the body will go a long way to achieve dreams in the world of dance and the related industry. So open up the mind, now.
Well, in short, it is a challenging time for all the remaining contestants, for the masters and the voting public as well. Not to forget the tough decision that the grandmaster will have to make in casting his wildcard entry vote. | |

I am a big fan of DID and regularly watches the show with my entire family because of its neat content and relative programming on dance.
please try to mantain the existing standard of the show, and remo do take care of ur leg since u met with an accident.I have only one complaint with u guys that u have given one more chance for chotu lohar because he is from a small village which is not having a TV also u would have given him a chance to learn and perform. I think u have to bring him back to the show. Because people like him is the USP of DID.
