Mr. Raman Bhalla is the best person for the people of Gandhi nagar and for the all Jammu & Kashmir development. As I read comment about him that he mixes up with general people may be but work is done, work and development is important for growth of J&K and not mixing with people as other politican do so nothing gets done, So we all say Mr. Raman Bhalla is the best. Also we all pray to God to give him more ability to help people of J&K and also pray to God to give him Pray for God to give him strength for all he has to do for J&K and for our INDIA..May God bless him and also one day God will be proud of him. WE ALL ARE VERY PROUD OF HIM FOR HIS GOOD WORK AND HONESTY. GREAT JOB MR. BHALLA JI AND WE ALL ARE PROUD OF YOU..... GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!

India's people great, they know who is best...Congress party zindabad | | | Buddhdev Pandya (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom) | | 302 days ago ( 2009-05-19 02:27:09 ) | | INDIA: LEGACY OF THE GENERAL ELECTION | INDIA: LEGACY OF THE GENERAL ELECTION
By Buddhdev Pandya
The General Election in India once again dented the ego of the pundits who had predicated that the result will be neck and neck between the two major political parties. On the previous occasion they thought the BJP would win, but the Congress managed to place a hook at the power house of India.
This one turned out to be a disastrous performance for the Bhartiya Janta Party lead by Mr Lal Krishna Advani who was touted as a PM in waiting! Post election post-mortem within the party has begun with fingers in some quarters being pointed at Shri Narendra Modi the Chief Minister of Gujarat State and Varun Gandhi. Though Varun tried to make his grand theatrical entry to stake a claim as a future youth leader, he used the old communal slogans which landed him jail during the crucial campaign period.
While the Modi factor was seen by many political commentators as a calculated risk due to his love-hate popularity in the upper layer of the party, Varun Gandhi seemed to be reading from an old song sheet that BJP leaders were attempting to put on back burners. The main party leaders refrained from sharing platform with him but there was a clear indication that his political antics were kept alive for future use against his own family, namely Sonia and Rahul.
Notably, the election was not marred by riots or communal frictions. BJP leadership failed to capture imagination of the voters by sticking to the issue such as ‘money in Swiss Banks they will bring back to make the country of ‘milk and honey’ for every one! Terrorism was flagged up but the BJP’s was swiftly reminded of its own performance during the attack on the Indian Parliament and dealings to resolve an incident of a plan jacking. The debate virtually brought the agenda down like a lead balloon. In India such issues are emotionally charged at the time of incident but the Congress had made its mark by swiftly removing the Home Minister and others in order to claim higher political moral grounds. It looked that BJP was gasping for issues.
Mr Advan was nick-named as man of inaction by some of the factions in his own party. From the beginning, BJP seemed fragmented with one of his key player in the campaign team refused to take part in a crucial meeting. At one press meeting Mr Advani was seen fondling through papers giving a picture of confused leader. All these added to the chorus giving rise to the Narendra Modi factor which projected him being the ideal PM for India, eventually lead to more open accusations raising the questions of the suitability of Mr Advani as the next effective.
Their strategies defied the old conventions where in any election the opposition usually focus on local issues rather then international to win more grass-root support. From the beginning, BJP seemed fragmented with one of his key player in the campaign team refused to take part in a crucial meeting. Even the Narendra Modi factor came in to play as him being the ideal PM for India which leads to more open accusations that raised questions about the suitability of Mr Advani as the next PM.
Before the disarray had any chance to settle; the former PM and leader of BJP Mr Atalbhiari Bajpai saw the danger and came to the rescue Mr Advani and made a statement from his bedside hoping to clam the turmoil. It looked that the RSS supporters were keen to destabilise him for his misguided mission to Jhina’s tomb in Pakistan and a subsequent statement which landed him more troubled waters. No wonder why Varun was focused on the RSS backing and less bothered by the lack of enthusiasm from theBJP leadership for his campaign.
The BJP focus on mudding the image of the Congress party by making personal attacks on the leadership of Mr Manmohan Sign failed to solidify against Congress’ manifesto. Congress appeared to have scored more when it came to the claims of delivering their promises. BJP raised a number of issues but there was a niggling, “ they had ten years to solve them”, defeated the argument. Congress was openly taunting the BJP leader Mr Advani with provocative questions, ‘when he was planning to build a temple at Ayodhya’,
The other parties were disfranchised by the voters as their beginning of the campaigns was flawed. They believed the poles that predicated a hung situation and began to horse-trade in the name of unity giving rise to the impression that they just wanted to negotiate places in the government with any party that was going win with stable majority. The teen devias – Jaylalita, Mamta and Mayavati all played cards to their chest for a long period but eventually become a some what insignificant, except Mamta came much closer to Sonia when things looked more uncertain. Lalu Prasad, Ram Vilas Paswan and Mulayam morcha was ill conceived and was less likely to have any potential to materialise in real power against these women.
The election campaign portrayed a colourful period with actors like Sanjay Dutt, known for his role in a film as ‘munnabhai’ who provided much needed entertainment. People turned out in numbers to see their hero actors and actresses from the Bollywood industry and, the political parties made full use of them, some even appearing for the rival parties. Voters saw senior figures distributing ‘money’ for votes and even threatening voters on the TV channels. Many candidates were given warnings and charge sheets by the Election Commission but, doubt any one will ever get punished beyond settling scores over the next few years.
For Mr Narendra Modi, a skilful administrator and politician, who had cleverly managed to position him self at the centre of the campaign at the right time when Mr Advani was emerging as a weak leader. It would have proved as a sharp move and may have proved a prime time for his career had the BJP managed to won the election? The outcome gave Mrs Sonia Gandhi-despite her Italian background, a public endorsement, re-establishing her moral authority as one of the most powerful leader of India.
The star indeed was Rahul Gandhi, the general Secretary of the Congress Party. He began tour of India, provoking the younger generation to join his party. He succeeded in stirring the youth in Gujarat and across many states. He focused on associating him self with the poor and challenged the political culture where politicians have four air-condition units installed on their stages when addressing their supporters who often sit in direct sum for more than five hours to hear them for just ten minutes.
Generating empathy with the needs of the common men-women he touched the core of the voters with a slogan, ‘There is going to be one India, belonging to all Hindu, Muslim, Christian, poor and rich all alike”. The election legacy would be written to mark the history of a contrast in political fortunes between the two cousins; a new political leader is born from the Gandhi Family. Meanwhile, the Singh is the King again. | | | Qayoom shaw (Delhi, India) | | 303 days ago ( 2009-05-17 19:56:23 ) | | Congratulations | Congratulations Annuji

The occasion is piled high with difficulty and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves and then we shall save our country. Fellow-citizens we cannot escape history. No personal significance or insignificance can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass will light us down in honor or dishonor to the latest generation. We say we are for the Union. The world will not forget that we say this. We even we here hold the power and bear the responsibility. In giving freedom to the slave we assure freedom to the free honorable alike in what we give and what we preserve. We shall nobly save or meanly lose the last best hope of earth.

They chose to enter dirty politics instead of joining crore rupee foreign jobs. THat fact alone is sufficient to vote for them. They are contesting from 3 states and 8 seats. Pity they have still not reached surat. So what are the choices. I see all these websites including this one and its all facts about declared wealth and general stats. Not very useful when one wants to decide whom to vote for. I would only urge people to look beyong BJP and Congress. Come on, we're not as bad as the USA which is owned by only two parties the Republicans adn teh Democrats. Look at all the candidates. I would request every1 to choose 1 website which they trust and spend at least 30 minutes going through teh details of ALL the candidates. Then choose your candidate, from any party, even BPJ or Congress. And i really really want the NOTA (None Of The Above) option to be put in the election voting machines. There is a law in our constitution but something about it being activated or invoked blocks it. This option if made available allows people to vote for no one if they feel they don't have a good enough choice. If NOTA gets majority, then all the candidates contesting will get debarred and a new set of better candidates will be forced to appear. That'll surely make things better won't it. But can you trust the politicians to ever allow NOTA to be invoked, i don't think so. But anyway, vote. Coz one things sure, this last month is the time when every poltician is working like hell, and for sure, is the one time they are worried as hell, thats the power of your vote. According to recent stats given by a very recognised institute BPL(below poverty line) has increased by more than 20% (Arnd 26%)
So was the hand with the people or with their money.
They (congress) show youth in their advertisements, so what about the unemployment you give them in return.
Ok if you want, leave the above issues, lets talk about inflation by which every person is effected (went as high as 13%), and then people talk about Manmohan Singh got us out of crisis in 90's....Well he did get us out of crisis but in 90's it was Congress and again in 2008 it was Congress....Both the times economic crisis
This message is not for the blindfolded supporters of Congress, it is for people who want to know the truth.
Dont forget BJP chose APJ Abdul Kalam as the President and supported him for his comeback. So let us not talk about casteism and BJP together....
Let us not get carried away by the media which does not always give the clear picture...But let us be the judges

So, ruling the nation would only be a part time habitual propoganda.
And at the same time, this congress party is also impotent. But thanks god, they are only fighting with others at present, with the likes of lalu, advani and Mulayam..
So are we left with any other option? It's a misfortune of the country, but the answer is, At present, NO!!!

I will try to attempt an eye opener and do as much good as in my capacity.
Foremost I truly appreciate the efforts of Mr. Jasvir Nigam who is trying to throw light on Congress. And WOW, those are good points. BUT Mr. Nigam why are you not highlighting the weaknesses as well as pointers where UPA has failed. Yes, as everybody already must have guessed, I am a supporter of BJP, but my point here is let us decide who will be a better leader for the nation, who can bring about change in the system, who will shed all inhibitions and be a true INDIAN. I do not want OUR leader to work in the shadow of another. And not voting is not an answer or a solution. EVERYBODY's VOTE MATTERS. You never know, your chosen leader might win.
When I right this I am talking as an INDIAN and not any party supporter. Let us be the evaluators of our future. | | | manoj majoka (Bhopal, India) | | 343 days ago ( 2009-04-07 15:24:03 ) | | THE ONLY PARTY WHO IS CAPABLE TO RUN THE SHOW | | CONGRESS PARTY IS THE ONLY PARTY IN INDIA WHO CAN STAND IN THE ODD CONDITIONS AND FIGHT AGAINST ALL PROBLEMS. The Indians will definitely vote for the Congress for the achievements of the UPA government in the last five years.
Undoubtedly Congress will be the largest democratic party and the United Progressive Alliance will mark its presence and Hon'ble Dr. Manmohan Singh will be Prime Minister. The policies viz NAREGA framed by the UPA in the past 5 years will definitely have a wide impact. As other parties are having no agenda apart from religion and communism whereas the UPA had given a handy hand to farmers as well as to the women.
Hence, In absence ageda and issues with opposition it is clear that Congress will win the 2009 parliamentary elections and form the next government . | | | IQBAL BHUTA (Oshawa, Canada) | | 348 days ago ( 2009-04-02 11:46:42 ) | | AZIZ TANKARVI WILL WIN THE BHARUCH SEAT... | INSHA ALLAH BHARUCH SEAT IS GOING TO CONGRESS.AZIZ TANKARVI IS TOO STRONG CANDIDATE FOR MANSUKH VASAVA. The ruling Congress party said on Tuesday in its election manifesto that it would introduce measures to ensure that economic growth was maintained and protect farmers from the impact of a global slowdown.
The party said it would extend interest relief to farmers and build on the national job guarantee scheme, both seen as potential vote winners in the April/May general election.
"When I look at the opportunities, I am convinced that this country can move forward on a road to faster, more equitable growth," Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said at the launch of the manifesto.
Congress also said it would maintain government control over state-run firms in the manufacturing and finance sectors.
The main battle in the April 16-May 13 election will be between a coalition led by the left-of-centre Congress Party and an alliance led by the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, which has traditionally been more business.
Many polls show that the Congress-led alliance could beat the main opposition grouping led by the BJP, but it could still fall short of a majority in parliament.
The ruling Congress government gained power in 2004, but many of its economic reforms were blocked by its communist allies which supported the alliance in parliament.

Relations between the two parties have been prickly as the NCP negotiated with opposition parties to undercut Congress and boost its leader's prime ministerial ambitions. Congress will stand for 26 seats in the state and the NCP for 22. The allies are weighing up their options for a similar deal outside the state.
