Many people here are seen to just add some percentage figures and reach at some conclusions. It is quite wrong to do it. This site may be viewed by people from many places in the world. No one should think that we are weak in mathematics. Let me just present one simple scenario that will show you why such calculations are wrong.
Assume that there are three seats in total, each having 100 voters.
In seat 1, Congress gets all the 100 votes and BJP gets 0. Congress wins.
In seat 2, Congress gets 49, BJP gets all the rest - 51, just two votes above - but BJP wins.
In seat 3 also, Congress gets 49, BJP gets all the rest - 51, just two votes above - but BJP wins.
So, in total, congress gets 198 votes (100+49+49) out of 300 (100+100+100).
BJP gets only 102 votes (51+51) out of 300 (100+100+100).
Total voting percentage of Congress = 198/300 = 66% (Almost 2/3rd)
Total voting percentage of BJP = 102/300 = 33% (Almost 1/3rd)
But - WHO WILL FORM A GOVERNMENT?
SURELY BJP - Because they won 2 out of three seats - Exactly 2/3rd majority.
Hope you understood the situation. A Direct voting percentage will not give you an indication of how the final results would look like. ONLY IF YOU KNOW HOW THE VOTING PATTERNS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED IN ALL THE CONSTITUENCIES, you will be able to predict the result.
Even though these are quite simple mathematics, let us not burn our energy too much for this. 28th is not far away. I am a BJP follower. It makes me happy to see a BJP government in power. That's all. I have no problem if the people decide otherwise. Ours is the largest 'DEMOCRATIC' conmutry in the world. | |

It is a survey, seemingly conducted by someone whom I don't know. I have no problem in waiting until 28th. But, if the general mood among the people gives any indication, there is a pretty chance for the BJP coming back to power. That is a fact that no one can deny. Congress may retain power as well. Let us wait until 28th rather than arguing on surveys conducted by people whom we don't know.

Vajpeyi had been reported many times as the most "loved" PM India ever had. Even now, he holds that record. Is NDA in power now?
Even I have no big problems with VirbhadraSinghji. So what? I would like to see a BJP 'GOVERNMENT' in power. If Dhumal is loved only 23% - does it mean that 100% of people do not want BJP to be in power? We need not be good in Mathematics, to know all these, Arvindji. But must have some logical thinking ability.

We(MA politics students)of delhi university had done an exit poll on 19th in 23 selected constituencies of himachal pradesh.the constituencies were selected in a such manner that it speaks for the entire state.total sampling number was about 7000 persons(fairly high for a state like himachal and each and every community were represented fairly)..The results were incredible::
even though people respect Virabhadra Singh as the most popular candidate for Chief Minister there exists a tremondous Anti-Incumbency wave in favour of BJP.

Respected Madam,
With due regards we beg to say that we all are the young youth of India residing in different states of India. Some of us are employed and some are still not employed and searching for job in government sector and always busy in preparation of competitive examinations.
Madam, recently print media has published that congress party is increasing the retirement age from 60 years to 62 years to the central government employees of Indian government.
Madam, in this case we want to state that this would not be good a move for congress party and its vote bank. We are the sincere workers of congress party and this move will really decrease the achievements of congress party as Indian young youth will not support congress party on this move. India is having 40% of young youth and most of them are still unemployed and searching jobs.
If the retirement age would be increased to 62 years, then job opportunities for unemployed young youth would be decreased drastically and it would ruin their dreams too.
It is requested to you Madam to please interfere in this case and retirement age for central government employees should not be increased upto 62 years and it should be kept same as 60 years and clarification about above may please be published in the print media at the earliest to reduce the worries of young unemployed congress workers.
We hope that this point would be discussed immediately among party leaders.
