Das is originally from Konnagar, West Bengal.
Jolly considers
Lata Mangeshkar, a well-known Indian
playback singer as her idol. She is a true fan of Asha Bhosle, also an
Indian singer. Her first stage performance was in school at the age of 10.
She completed her graduation in music from the Rabindra Bharati University
in Kolkata. Her favorite song is “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aayee” from the Hindi
film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).
Jolly was one of the contestants of
Indian Idol 3, a singing competition on
Sony Entertainment Television channel. She was among the top 13 finalists on
Indian Idol 3 and attained 12th place in
the competition with public votes. She was eliminated on July 07, 2007. |
