Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2009 Profile :

The state of Jharkhand will go to the polls in November - December 2009 to elect 81 legislators, as declared by the Election Comission of India. Voting will take place in five phases from November 25, 2009 to December 18, 2009.

To form the next government in Jharkhand, any political party or alliance will need to win 41 or more assembly seats out of the total of 81 seats.

Vote counting and results will take place on December 23, 2009.

	Jharkhand is one of the poorest states in India, and that's only because of the prevalent corruption in the state. Most Govt officials are corrupt, everyone makes easy money, no one really cares.
