Jjhoom India was a musical reality show which was aired on Indian Television channel Sahara One. The show got started on October 27, 2007. The show was produced by Vipul. D. Shah and Sanjiv Sharma. It was hosted by Rahul Vaidya and Sucheta Khanna and was telecast twice a week, Fridays & Saturdays, at 9 p.m. on Sahara One TV channel. Ten celebrities were paired with professional singers to take on the challenge. The ten celebrities competed against each other for the grand prize. The singer used to train the celebrity and the duo used to perform on the stage. Each week, the pairs had to perform a song based on specific themes. One pair was eliminated every week. Viewers got a chance to vote for the best three teams every week. The Ten jodis were as follows: Vinod Rathod and Roshni Chopra (Jodi No. 1) (Eliminated on January 11, 2008) Varun Badola and Akriti Kakar (Jodi No. 2) (First Runner-Up) Vaiishali Samant and Sharad Kelkar (Jodi No. 3) (November 23, 2007) Madhushree and Sachin Tyagi (Jodi No. 4) (Winner) Mrinal Kulkarni and Sudesh Bhosle (Jodi No. 5) (Eliminated on December 21, 2007) Chhavi Pandit and Jatin Lalit (Jodi No. 6) (Eliminated on December 28, 2007) Shama Sikander and Jolly Mukherjee (Jodi No. 7) (Eliminated on November 16, 2007) Parthiv Gohil and Apara Mehta (Jodi No. 8) (Eliminated on November 02, 2007) Sanjeevani and Shekhar Suman (Jodi No. 9) (Eliminated on January 04, 2008) Suresh Wadkar and Shweta Tiwari (Jodi No. 10) (Eliminated on November 09, 2007) The panel of three judges were as follows: Mahesh Bhatt – Bollywood film director Shabana Azmi – Indian film actress Anandji Shah – Bollywood music director A Wildcard Episode was kept where the 6 eliminated jodis - Parthiv & Apara, Shama & Jolly, Suresh & Shweta, Vaishali & Sharad, Mrinal & Sudesh and Madhushree & Sachin competed against each other in order to re-enter the main competition. Madhushree and Sachin (Jodi No. 5) and Mrinal & Sudesh (Jodi No. 8) returned to the main contest through a wild card entry on December 14, 2007. After several rounds of singing performances, 2 finalists were selected on January 11, 2008 - Madhushree & Sachin and Varun & Akriti. The Grand Finale was held on January 18, 2008. Madhushree and Sachin Tyagi (Jodi No. 4) were declared as the winner of Jjhoom India and Varun Badola and Akriti Kakar were announced as the first runner-up.
