for Kishore was an Indian Television singing competition which got started on
December 21, 2007 on Sony Entertainment Television channel. The show was
telecast twice a week, Friday and Saturday at 9 pm. The show was produced
by Miditech.
The show aimed to seek the new-age late
Kishore Kumar, the all-time popular
Indian playback singer and an actor. The show aimed to keep his magic alive.
Twelve contestants, all of whom had looked upon
Kishore Kumar as an inspiration for their
singing, competed against each other for the title of the most deserving
successor to the music maestro. The contestants recreated
the magic of
Kishore Kumar by singing his songs. The
winner was declared
as the ‘Heir Apparent’ of
Kishore
Kumar.
The contestants were divided into two teams - Baangru and Jhumroo

Milind Ingle, the well-known Marathi singer joined the show as
one of the contestants on February 02, 2008. He was eliminated on March 22,
2008.
The show was hosted by
Babul Supriyo,
an Indian playback singer and
Rajeshwari Sachdev Badola, an Indian film actress and also a
singer.
Bappi
Lahiri and
Sudesh Bhosle, the well known Indian playback singers
and Amit Kumar,
son of
Kishore Kumar were the judges who mentored the contestants on their singing abilities.
A group of 13 singers entered the show as challengers. They challenged the
remaining 5 contestants on February 15, 2008 and February 16, 2008.

These thirteen challengers were tested and six
were selected for the gala rounds which were as follows:
Nagesh
Kukunoor, an Indian film director and actor joined the show
as one of the judges to select the voice of
Kishore Kumar for his forthcoming film.
After several rounds of singing performances, 3 finalists were
selected
Chetan
Rana,
Chintan
Bakiwala and
Arnab
Chakraborty.
The Grand Finale was held on May 04, 2008.

I had also sent number of mails to SONY TV about the same, but till date I have not received any response from them. The proverb i.e. OLD IS GOLD is the best example. Like me there are lakhs of Kishore Daa's fans all over the world, who enjoyed his songs which were all super duper hits, whether it is solo, duet or qawwali, Kishore Daa use to put his soul in each and every song. One thing was missing during the entire programme was the absence of Ex.Super Star Rajesh Khanna, he should be there atleast for the grand finale, but there must be some reasons for the same which might be known to the sponsors only, but I am sure if he would have watched any of the episodes, he might have also enjoyed the programme, as Kishore Daa is called the ghost voice of Rajesh Khanna. First it was for Dev Anand but later on he shifted to Rajesh Khanna. In my opinion all the 3 judges were fantastic at their decisions. Any Kishore Daa's fan will never forget the super duper combination of KK & PANCHAM (RDB). The success of the programme itself shows that how popular was Kishore Daa, as this was the first ever programme on any Play Back Singer in India in small screen. I am looking forward the session 2 of the said programme. |  |

Sony cannot provide a decent entertainment....all their programming is nuts!
I felt sorry for Asha Bhosle who must have felt "kahan aa key phas gayeee!!!" not one singer is good.... Asha tai should have followed/seen this program first before agreeing to star in it. I can understand her feelings though. Kishoreda ka program hai....chalo kar lete hain......She must surely have good intentions.
I am AGHAST that Chintan Bankiwala gets to sing for Nagesh (I was sure Nagesh is an intelligent guy !!) Chintan's voice texture is so bad.
Andhon mein kaana raja....so SOMEONE HAD to win.
Now sony must bring back their FLOP SHOW...."Fame Gurukul" and give us ANOTHER QAZI TAUKEER......one day Sony can claim an award for showing "lousy shows". | |

Amitkumar was very disappointing as usual, I felt sorry for Sudeh Bhosle.

Problem is, will it make sense to Sony. I have a very strong feeling that Sony has typincal "babu" characters. You know, like the government babus....indulging in a lot of nefarious activities and always showing their authority to hapless junta.....Sony must be having some like these.....one guy gets a "bright" idea KFK and then the bosses bosses mess it up royal.First by taking shortcuts of not screening the singers well (UNLIKE saregama and chote ustaad). ALL the singers CANNOT sing ! I keep quoting my examples i.e. suppose in a class of a school or a college, the BRIGHTEST student is the one who gets 35% marks. So he will "Stand First" right ? Does it make him intelligent ? You remember the saying "Andhon mein kana raja ?". Now Sony is FORCED to stick to their original choice of these gadha singers. And, each one thinks he is God's gift to singing ! Sony tried to push in some more contestants thru patli gali...but that too backfired.....You can imaging Sony's "standards" (because of these stupid babus)....that they pushed in Rex D'Souza once.....this guy is "better" than the present lot.....but EVEN he is not a good singer....(Fame Gurukul was one of the WORST shows ever....and I was happy that a total besuraa like Qazi Taukeer won...serves Sony right !!!
The Sony babus have made a satyanash of what could easily have been a fantastic show.....but Sony wanted a short-cut...so who cares about the screening the candidates....I can even visualise these babus....key...."arrey bhai Star and Zee are getting more TRPs because of saregama and chote ustaad...jaldi karo aur koi ek singing ka show shuru karo....wah wah kya idea hai KFK...wah!! iii) A particular song has to be sung by all the participants one by one.

Is this show about finding the closest voice to Kishore Kumar OR is it to keep the personal favorites or people with approach (whether they sing horandously) on top and do injustice with better singers????
Dear producers and judges, your favoritism is visible to all audiences and it is not happening good in the context of this program...
DO FAIR JUDGEMENT AND ELIMINATE THE BAD SINGER.

Why??????????????. This is a grand show, at least where we are able to listen all the songs of Kishoreda. Singers are singing extremely good day by day; it is another fact that to find original voice of Kishoreda is impossible. However, there should not be any protest or negative attitude towards this show. We like this as a great show. It will be more attractice if legends like Rajesh Khanna, Dev Anand, Sharmila TAgore, Hema Malini etc. be the chief celebrity judges. | |
