Skin color like skin should be: the Earth's colors of brown to bronze to beige. Intensity, opinions, education, sensuality. These African women change the bland ecuation of the Miss contests. The world discovered Latin American beauties in the 80s, and it has taken 3 decades for people to start accepting that the Barbie look is not the only look, it is not the desirable look because, well because it is boring, not just unhealthy and fake.
Talking about fake, my own native country produces a lot of acclaimed but fake "white" beauty (died hair, hair extensions, color contact lenses, starved and chiseled bodies, injections galore), instead of showing off some of its gorgeous indians, mestizas, blacks and mulatas. I am talking about Venezuela.
