 Sukhwinder
Singh is an Indian playback singer. He is well known for the song Chaiyya
Chaiyya from the Hindi film Dil Se (1998) for which he had won the 1999
Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award.
His first stage appearance was at the age of eight. He was trained by
Balwantrai Jaswal, a well-known singer in Punjab. He had joined the troupe
of renowned music directors Laxmikant – Pyarelal and use to learn under
them. He got his first break with the Hindi film Khilaaf (1991) in which he
sang a song “Aa Ja Sanam”. However his first effort went unnoticed and the
song did not make him popular. He then went to England and America to learn
music. Later he returned to Mumbai to start his musical career again.
A. R. Rehman, the famous Indian music director gave him the major
breakthrough with the film Dil Se (1998). Since then he has sung for various
Hindi films such as 1947 Earth (1998), Taal (1999), Biwi No. 1 (1999),
Lagaan (2001), Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya (2001), Tere Naam (2003), Chalte Chalte
(2003), Meenaxi (2004), Musafir (2004), Paheli (2005), Padmashree Laloo
Prasad Yadav (2005), Ek Ajnabee (2005), Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena (2005), Garam
Masala (2005), Water (2005), Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Shabd (2005), Shaadi Se
Pehle (2006), Omkara (2006) etc.
He has sung for several 2007 Hindi films such as Just Married (2007), Jhoom
Barabar Jhoom (2007), Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007) etc. He became popular
with the songs like “Chak De” from the Hindi film
Chak De India (2007) and “Dard-E-Disco” from the Hindi film
Om Shanti Om (2007). Apart from singing for Bollywood films, he has also
released some pop albums of his own such as Nasha Hi Nasha and Is Dil Se.
He is one the judges of the show

There were some very good singers, but VIPUL in my opinion was the way above the rest, he should have won the competition. I also think SAPTAPARANA was a lovely singer and both of them deserves a chance. Please make sure these talents are not lost and given a fair chance to make it in life. I was very much disappointed to see vipul out. though he has got the wild card entry but i am not hope ful because public is very much biased. I know vipul sings from his heart and has got a very powerful voice and capacity to sing different types of songs. I really don't like saptparna's voice which is very congested and don't know and can't understand why person like ismail darbar is so fond of her voice. according to my perception vipul should be the star voice of india and no one else. god bless him with maa sarsvati.

i want to ask you a big question.why are u so fair to vipul.that is beacuse of his singing or beacuse that he is from punjaab.it is ok that you have to give a wild card entry.but that doesnt' means that you have to give 2 times wild card.from VOI 1 there was a good singer called toshi,when he was out they gave a wild card.when 2nd time he was out they didnt' gave a chance of wild card.this time the judjes are also so boaring like you.your only aim is to keep vipul and to make him the winner.thats why you are putting the nice singer ravi in the danger now.so that your so called vipul will be free to get the winner and the cup of VOI 2.but you all's mission will be flop.beacuse for final there will be ravi and vipul from there the winner will be ravi.i will give 1000000000 votes for ravi.and 1 thing you have a girl type not a boy type. | |
