Salman Khan is a well-known Indian film actor.

He was born on December 27, 1965. He is the eldest son of renowned screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Salma Khan. Helen, an Indian film actress is his stepmother. His tow brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail are also Indian film actors. He also has two sisters, Alvira and Arpita. Alvira is married to Atul Agnihotri, an Indian film actor.

Salman made his acting debut with the Hindi film Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988). He got his major breakthrough with the Hindi film Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). The film earned him the 1990 Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. He has acted in several Hindi films such as Baaghi (1990), Patthar Ke Phool (1991), Sanam Bewafa (1991), Kurbaan (1991), Saajan (1991), Love (1991), Suryavanshi (1992), Ek Ladka Ek Ladki (1992), Nishchaiy (1992), Jaagruti (1993), Dil Tera Aashiq (1993), Chandra Mukhi (1993) etc.

Despite of his tremendous beginning at the box office, most of his releases in 1992-1993 resulted in box office failures. He restored his success with the Hindi film Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994).
