Shah Rukh Khan is a popular Bollywood actor and producer. He was born on November 2, 1965 in New Delhi. He is considered to be one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema.
He was born to parents of Pathan origin. His father Taj Mohammed Khan was a freedom activist. His mother Lateef Fatima was the daughter of Major General Shah Nawaz Khan who served in the Indian National Army of Subash Chandra Bose. He completed his schooling from St. Columba's School, New Delhi. Later he joined the Hansraj College and earned an Honors degree in Economics. He also studied for a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia University.
Shah Rukh, now popularly also known as ‘King’ Khan and SRK, started his acting career in 1988 with the Television serial Fauji in which he played the role of a Commando. He also acted in other TV serials like Circus and In Which Annie Gives it Those Ones.
He moved to Mumbai in 1991 after the death of his parents. He made his film debut with the film Deewana (1992) for which he won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. He won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1993 for the film Baazigar. He also won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for the film Anjaam in 1994. Khan is also a producer. He has set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with actress
Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza in 1999 and produced and starred in the 2 films - Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000) and Asoka (2001). In 2004, he set up another production company called Red Chillies Entertainment and produced and starred in the film Main Hoon Na which was a hit. He has also produced other films like Paheli (2005) and Kaal (2005).
He was also the host of the third series of the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati on Star Plus.
He is married to Gauri Khan and has 2 children – son Aryan and daughter Suhana. His film
Chak De India was released on August 10, 2007. His last release in the year 2007 was the film
Om Shanti Om which was produced by his own company Red Chillies Entertainment.
