Jeev
Milkha Singh is an Indian golfer. He was born on December 15, 1971. He is
the son of well known Indian athlete Milkha Singh. He attended the Abilene
Christian University in USA.
Jeev won his first amateur tournament – American Express Championship in
Delhi at the age of thirteen. He has won various amateur tournaments in U.S.
His first professional win was the 1993 Southern Oklahoma State Open. He won
the Volvo China Open in April 2006.
He became the first Indian golfer to participate in the Masters Tournament
in 2007 and the first Indian to make up to the top 50 of the Official World
Golf Rankings. He is also the first Indian golfer to become a member of the
European tour.
Jeev was honored with the Padma Shri Award by the Indian Government in 2007. |
