Bachchan, popularly known as Big B, is a popular Indian film actor. He was
born on October 11, 1942 to Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Shrimati Teji
Bachchan in Allahabad. His father was a well-known poet. He has a brother
called Ajitabh.
Amitabh started his acting career with the Hindi
film Saat Hindustani (1969) for which he won his first National Film Award
for Best Newcomer in 1970. His first major box office success came with the
Hindi film Zanjeer (1973). The film established him as the “Angry Young Man”
of the Bollywood. He has acted in various Hindi films such as Deewaar
(1975), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Don
(1978), Kasme Vaade (1978), Kaala Patthar (1979), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Ram
Balram (1980), Shaan (1980), Lawaaris (1981), Shakti (1982) etc.
He married film actress
Jaya Bhaduri on June 03,
1973. They have 2 children Shweta and
Abhishek.
Abhishek is also an Indian film actor.
Shweta is married to industrialist Nikhil Nanda.
