Priyanka Chopra is an Indian actress. She was born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra. Her father was a surgeon in the Indian Army. Her mother is a gynecologist. She finished her schooling from the Army Public School in Bareilly. She attended the Jai Hind College in Mumbai which she left it mid-way after wining the Miss World pageant. Priyanka won the Femina Miss India World title in 1994 and the Miss World title in 2000. She started her acting career with the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002). Her first Hindi film was Hero (2003), directed by Anil Sharma. She came into the spotlight with the film Andaaz (2003) for which she won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She has also won the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her negative role in the film Aitraaz (2004). She has acted in several Hindi movie like Plan (2003), Asambhav (2004), Mujse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Bluffmaster (2005), Krrish (2006), Don (2006) and others. Her first release in 2007 was the film Salaam-e-Ishq directed by Nikhil Advani.
