NDTV (New Delhi Television Limited) founded in 1988 by Prannoy Roy, is a private producer of news, current affairs and entertainment television. NDTV group tied up with Indian film director Karan Johar and Dharma Productions and launched the new Hindi entertainment channel NDTV Imagine on January 21, 2008. Karan Johar is the creative consultant and the ambassador of the NDTV brand. The channel is headed by Sameer Nair, the erstwhile CEO of Star Entertainment India. Say Shaava Shaava was a musical reality show which got started on January 21, 2008 on NDTV Imagine channel. The show was produced by Contiloe Films Pvt. Ltd and used to air on NDTV Imagine channel everyday at 8:30 pm. The show featured eight Television stars competing against each other for the title of the best singer. It was hosted by popular Television actor Ali Asgar. Karan Johar, the well known Indian director and Simi Garewal, an Indian film actress were the judges of the show. The eight contestants were as follows : Sumeet Raghvan (Winner) Apurva Agnihotri (Finalist) Juhi Parmar (Finalist) Divyanka Tripathi (Eliminated on January 30, 2008) Mouni Roy (Eliminated on January 28, 2008) Narayani Shastri (Eliminated on January 27, 2008) Mannish Goel (Eliminated on January 25, 2008) Aman Verma (Eliminated on January 23. 2008)

The participants sang their favorite songs and Karan and Simi along with viewers from across the country voted to select the best singer among these soap stars. One participant with the least scores and votes was eliminated every day. A Wildcard Episode was kept on January 28, 2008. The 5 eliminated contestants - Aman Verma, Mouni Roy, Juhi Parmar, Mannish Goel and Narayani Shastri competed against each other in order to re-enter the main competition. Juhi Parmar returned to the main contest on January 29, 2008. After several rounds of singing performances, 3 finalists were selected Juhi Parmar, Apurva Agnihotri and Sumeet Raghvan. The Grand Finale was held on January 31, 2008. Sumeet Raghvan was declared the winner of Say Shaava Shaava.
