Iyer is originally from Pune. She is an I.T professional. She was born into
a South Indian family. Her dream is to become a playback singer.
Sumitra was one of the contestants of
Star Voice of India, a singing competition
on Star Plus channel. She was among the top 12 finalists.
She was also one of the contestants of
Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, a singing competition on Star Plus
channel and represented the Challengers team. She was eliminated on May 09,
